Blue Swan Capital is the sole program manager of the Nojoum Aviation Finance Program. This
is a sole partnership with the Islamic Corporation for Investment and Export Credit
(“ICIEC”). ICIEC is a Moody’s Aa3 rated entity and member of the Islamic Development Bank
Group (“IsDB”). Nojoum provides select airlines with sustainable aircraft financing.
The Nojoum Program offers sovereign airlines an optimized Ijarah. Member country airlines
get low-cost acquisition financing. Nojoum provides a single tranche facility to finance
100% of the aircraft price through an Ijarah resulting in balance sheet building
facilitating asset ownership leading to sustainable economic development.

OUR TEAM
Marc Karim Vermette is the Founder & Chief Executive officer of Blue Swan Capital. Marc-Karim started his career at Bombardier Aerospace in 2008 where he supported a team of project managers delivering Global family aircraft to a diverse set of clients. In 2010, Marc-Karim was selected to the EADS Graduate Management Development Program. In 2012, Marc-Karim was recruited by a client, AWAS, to join the team in the role of Sales Director. This role focused on creating the originating strategy for Africa, a yet to be developed market. Then in 2014, Marc-Karim joined Orix Aviation to explore developing a Middle East airlines focused aircraft leasing fund from Orix Corporation’s Dubai office. Marc-Karim took opportunity to participate in the development of a business jet leasing platform from the largest Bombardier operator outside the U.S. as Senior Vice President for VistaJet. In 2016, the region’s geopolitical shift gave rise to the foundations of the Blue Swan Capital’s investment approach. Marc-Karim is a founder of Blue Swan Capital and has been an essential part of the creation of the business model, strategy, implementation and the driving force of the business. With the support of many friends and colleagues in the industry, Blue Swan Capital successfully created and brought to market the Nojoum Aviation Finance program in partnerhsip with ICIEC. Marc Karim holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Concordia University in Montreal Canada. MK is fluent in French and English and has a basic knowledge of Arabic, German and Russian.
Marc Bourgade is the Managing Partner & Chief Financial Officer of Blue Swan Capital. In parallel, he owns a group of companies involved in trading and advisory mainly in the Aviation sector (working with airlines, lessors, manufacturers and investors). Until 2016, he worked for Natixis bank, where he held the position of Head of Aviation, Export Credits and Infrastructure Sectors & Clients since 2012. Prior to that, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Natixis Transport Finance bank and acted as Managing Director Aircraft Finance. During his nearly 20 years in Aviation, Marc completed over $25 billion of transactions and has won over 30 international awards in recognition for his involvement in very innovative structures. He even obtained changes in law in France and Brazil in relation to aviation export credit. He began his banking career in 1997 as a bank auditor. Marc holds a MSC from the University of Birmingham and is a graduate from the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris (French Grande École). He initially graduated as a Civil Engineer from the ESTP (French Grande École) in 1993. Marc enjoys travelling, skiing, horse riding, foreign languages and electronics. He sits at the advisory board of Emirates Aviation University Engineering School. He is fluent in French, Spanish, English and has basic knowledge of Arabic.
Jean-Francois Lascombe is the Chief Commercial Officer of Blue Swan Capital. Jean-Francois holds an MBA from ESSEC (France). He began his career with Credit Agricole Indosuez (now CA_CIB), then joined INGEPAR in 2001, a boutique arranging firm of BPCE group specialized in French tax lease. Jean-Francois then joined Natixis, BPCE investment bank, in Paris in 2006 before heading the aircraft finance Asia Pacific team in Singapore and won 3 Airfinance Journal deal of the year (Asia and Bank Loan categories) during his tenure. Jean-Francois created in 2016 Keypoint Aviation Consulting Pte.Ltd. which has contracted with various European arrangers (Stellwagen Finance, Asset Brok’Air) to originate and arrange aircraft financing for airlines and lessors. Jean-Francois, with his assignments in Europe and Asia, has a range of experience encompassing all types of aircraft financing instruments, senior loan, export finance, EETC, ABS, portfolio financing through club deals, mezzanine, tax lease products.
